Car history:
Sold new in 1967 from Huffstutler Chevrolet in Leeds, Alabama. The original owner not only purchased the highest horsepower L79 327 engine available @ 350hp but they managed to check the box for C60 AIR CONDITIONING a rather expensive option by 1967 standards. $412.90. The only two options to exceed the price of C60 was the 427/435 and L88 engine choices. Performance and comfort... Today with all the information gathered by Noland Adams we now know that approximately 336 convertibles with L79 4 speeds with factory C60 Air Conditioning were built. Factor the most desirable color combination today Rally Red with Black interior. This 1967 Corvette is approx 1 of 12.

I have a copy of a title issued in Tennessee 5/12/1973 to a D.H Grace Jr. with Lein holder as GMAC and previous state of ownership state Alabama. I believe that Grace Jr. could have been the second owner but have no way of substantiating it.

Dealer sales contract dated October 5, 1976 from Jack Douglas Chevrolet 420 E. Ogden Ave., Hinsdale, Illinois.

Copy of Illinois Title issued in 1976 to the owner who enjoyed and meticulously cared for the next 28 years. During that time he kept meticulous maintance records of service. Ive never seen such amazing records. Appraisal, NCRS Top Flight Award and judging sheets from 1984. 25th Anniversary Bloomington Gold Silver Salute windshield card, and other letters from 1992. Original Dealer Brochure. DVD of a few old pictures of car. Dash Plaques and more...

I purchased the Corvette from previous owner of 28 years in 2004 and I have all my maintance records and receipts. NCRS Top Flight Award 2004.

The Engine Stamp:

When the previous owner of 28 years purchased the car at Jack Douglas Chevrolet in 1976 the car had a CE block. The mechanic there by the name of Mike Hanson had informed the new owner of the car that he knew where the original engine was located. The owner purchased the original engine and had it machined at American Racing Engine in Elmhurst, Ill. It was bored .030 over, rods and mains cut .010" under on crankshaft. New 10 to 1 forged pistons were installed, block was decked, heads received 8 new exhaust valves and all new springs. It has the stock cam and original cylinder heads. Approx miles on rebuild is 40,000. The block was restamped and you can see some of the original stampings. I have this in writing from the previous owner and have no reason what so ever not to believe him.

The Body:

NO HIT ORIGINAL PANELS AND BONDING STRIPS FROM THE GM ASSEMBLY LINE.

Paint one repaint over the original Rally Red done in the late 60's or early 70's in laquer. Quality shine is excellent some popped small blister pimples on L/S front fender top and side around vent and hood over A/C compressor. Some minor checking on center hood line and rear deck. Some visible primer on L/S rear quarter panel and deck from over polishing car. Road chips touched up on nose and sides. I like the paint the way it is most people think the car has its original paint with factory imperfections. Original black out in engine compartment , under hood, front grille and factory undercoating in fender well areas. Doors, hood, decklid close and align as they should.

Interior:

Amazing original interior except for new carpets from ACC in 2004. All cluster lenses have been cleaned and guages work properly. 1 candle power bulbs replaces gauge cluster original bulbs. Very brite for us older guys who have trouble seeing... Clock rebuilt and NOT converted to quartz. All original radio panel, kick panel and very rare original rear sail panel (behind seat) screws.

A/C BLOWS ICE COLD ON R12 @ 42 DEGRESS.

CHECK THERMOMETER PHOTO !!!

New evaporator and dead on correct repro condensor from LIC, rebuild dryer, and POA Valve and new compressor clutch from Classic Auto air in Tampa.

Undercarriage:

Look at the pictures one of the nicest original frames you will ever see. Bottom of body all cleaned. Nice original inspection markings on front suspension and rivited upper ball joints.NO RUST

Corvette runs extremely well. Ive driven the car 15,000 miles in the last 6 years which includes a road trip from Fort Lauderdale, FL to PA and back in one week. You can drive this car cross country in comfort. Previous owner had driven on many NCRS road tour across the country. Car has even been to Steam Boat Springs, Colorado for national convention road tour.
